Selenium (Se) is an essential trace elements found in rich content in nutrition e.g. in meat, fish and daily products. Selenium is a highly biologically active antioxidant essential in enzymatic functions in the cells, especially as part of glutathione peroxidase enzyme protecting against oxidative stress. Recommended daily dosage of selenium is 40-50 µg. Although selenium is essential trace element, it is toxic if taken in excess thus tolerable upper intake level is considered as 300-400 µg per day.
Selenium protects the body against harmful heavy metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium by binding to harmful heavy metals and lowering their bioactivity, reducing their transport and toxicological properties. Selenium is needed for the formation of thyroid hormones regulating metabolism, for fertility, good immunity and mood. Selenium is also an important trace element for heart. Sufficient intake of selenium helps to support the normal function in lungs, pancreas, prostate and liver as well as eyes, skin and hair.
How to use:
Take 1 tablet daily.
