Original Chinese green tea is a refreshing and relaxing beverage. Green tea is consumed above all in Japan and in China before and after meals and also during meals to balance and improve digestion.Green tea contains e.g. plant antioxidants (catechins) and slightly vitamins B, C and E.Green tea contains plenty of substances which improve human health e.g. flavonoids, fluoride, catechins and polysaccharides. Green tea is wellknown in the Far-East as a flu blocker. Scientists in Japan are researching the effect of green tea in mouth and dental diseases. The fluoride in green tea is believed to prevent dental caries and gum inflammation.Leaves are hand picked from the tea plant. After gathering the leaves may dry for one day. The leaves are then rolled either manually or mechanically. During rolling the cell walls of the leaves will be broken and enzymes will be released. Green tea is not fermented as black tea but the fermentation is interrupted by heat treatment. During the enzymes i.e. ferments, will get destroyed. This way, the tannic acid does not dissolve and the alcaloids are stable and unchanged.

How to use:

Preparing green tea is easy: measure roughly one teaspoonful of tea leaves to a cup and add boiled water. The tea is ready for consumption after 2-5 minutes.
